A sustainable data center in the Amsterdam area
Our Aalsmeer data center is a prime example of smart sustainability. Working closely with the municipality of Aalsmeer and other partners, we created the sustainability initiative ‘Energyhub Aalsmeer’. Our data center runs on 100% green electricity, from the energy grid and from more than 500 solar panels. We make smart use of the heat produced by our customers’ IT systems, using this to provide heating to a nearby day care, a swimming pool and an export company in plants. This means they save on energy consumption and lower their CO₂ emissions. In exchange for this heat, NorthC receives cold water which we use to cool our customers’ IT systems.
Interconnected
The Aalsmeer data center is connected to all other NorthC locations in the Netherlands, via our Region Connect Ring. This means maximum flexibility for our customers. For example, you can set up a twin data center solution, with real-time data replication between multiple data centers. With two locations, an uptime of 100% can be achieved, which is essential to the continuity of your business processes. In addition, our Aalsmeer data center gives you access to the services of partners that are located in other NorthC data centers. The Region Connect Ring is our digital gateway to the rest of the Netherlands and to the world.
